New Years Resolutions… you either embrace them or if you are like me you just plain dislike them.It is not like I don’t like change. Well, maybe I am not the biggest fan and that might be why these past 4 years have been a constant source of change. Just the universe’s way of having a chuckle saying "that which you resist will persist." In the past, I make a resolution to find that within a short period of time I have abandoned it with glee! Over the past several years I made a conscious decision I would not longer embrace resolutions.I do find that I easily embrace (one of two) a) Building on from the previous year b) Starting a fresh idea. You might be saying that sounds like a resolution. Webster’s dictionary definition of resolution as “a firm decision to do or not to do something”. And that is where I get a little annoyed in the resolution wording “firm decision". I like to have flexibility.I enjoy being able to start something and when I see that it no longer works for me to easily let it go. Or if I love it I can visualize adding to it, and having the freedom to do so. This takes me to my dreams, plans and a vision for a new year.We all have them. Some of us make rituals around them, write letters and burn them, write mantras or affirmations. We meditate and journal. I love all of this as it helps to get my creative juices going. It is when I feel the creativity getting stuck that I start to investigate why? What needs to be calibrated to help me get on track? The past week was a not only a new year beginning it was also a full moon, a super moon. This meant doing a little ritual I enjoy. At specific moon times I like to draw oracle cards to see what is energetically in store for the upcoming month. I also like to clear any misalignments in my energy grid to the universal energies.
