We do not travel our journey alone

As part of this community I hope you receive support, inspiration and a little humour from my pondering of life I share in my blogs.

Life can come at you like a curveball. Are you ready?

If you had asked me 40 years ago what I would be doing in my 60’s I would not have described this life.

The universe always sees the bigger picture and has a bigger plan. It is all part of the life process. The process may feel like a curveball that is thrown unexpectedly out of left field.

My life events when looking back, were just a series of smaller events leading to the biggie! The one that comes out of left field and smacks you in the head.

The small series of events kinda went like this….

I became interested in alternative healing arts which led to me opening a business. I still was a mom, wife and all the rest so it was not always prominent although it was important in my life.

I continued putting everyone else’s needs in front of my own until I broke my leg. This gave me many months of healing from the inside out and from layers I never knew existed.

Life continued on….kids moved out….hubby and I learned what empty nesting was and we talked about next phases of life and where retirement might take place. We decided British Columbia looked good.

Then life events started to get close together with an intensity I thought would smother me some days.

My husband’s job went away due to restructuring and it prompted us to discuss more seriously about moving to BC. This came about the same time real estate people arrived every day asking if we were moving. I imagined my guides were watching to see if I read the messages they were sending. And I did!

So there was the flurry of activity downsizing and preparing for a move. But wait, there's more… my hubby injured his foot and was in a cast. Hello, Barbara - Queen of Routine and lover of lists can you do this? You bet with help from family and friends.

And then (you can insert really dramatic music) the baseball came out of left field and smacked me so hard it took my breath away.

My husband landed in the hospital with a raging infection in his foot. The day our house sale closed he had his leg amputated! Talk about life changing events!

In the many months following we experienced loss, friendship, love, support, anger, hurt and impatience. It was a full gamut of emotions.

You might be wondering what my story has to do with you?

Every one of us has a curve ball life event. None of us leave this planet without them, it is just the way it is. Your event may look differently from mine but it is not any less of an effect for you.

So here is my pondering and wisdom I can share...
"Life events are the process of huge growth. It helps us to understand being in the flow is more important than trying to redirect the flow. And every single day we get to practice it. I have found through all of this an amazing state of grace."
These are the top 3 things that have helped me find state of grace.

Meditation
I have learned that connecting to my internal guidance system, my soul, was the most important lesson. I have seen that when I listen to my inner guidance even when I do not see how that outcome could possibly be beneficial, life does go more smoothly. So I made a conscious decision to set aside some time everyday to do this. Even a little as 15 minutes can be helpful.

Ask for help and then be willing to accept it.
It was a huge lesson to stop trying to fix everything and let others help. I had to really ask for assistance and then the big lesson was to accept it when it showed up. I had to stop being strong and okay and just let whatever emotion spill up to the surface, feel it and let others support me through it. I realized that by asking for help and then receiving it graciously and easily allowed others to experience a part of their Soul's gifts, growth and purpose. And who am I to deny a person of that!

Soul Genesis clearings
I have used the benefits of Soul Genesis to clear the path every time I seem to find it blocked or cluttered with my own litter. It helps to bring into perspective what I need to focus on and I always get the clarity I need to move forward with grace and ease.
Life can throw a curveball with amazing speed. It is your choice whether to duck and get called a strike only to have to do it again; get smacked and feel the pain; or swing at it and hit it with accuracy out of the park so you can have the freedom to make it safely home. I choose a home run, what about you?

P.S. In case you are wondering how my story ended….it is being written from a home park in B.C. (the crowd goes wild!)
