Did you know that property clearing is an important part of staging a home for sale?
Realtors use a check list to prepare a home for sale.
What, you ask is a property clearing? And why would a home sale require this?
Spring is sprung and it is time to fling open the windows and get the fresh air into our homes. With the sun streaming in the windows we start to see the last effects of the winter season. Dirty windows, dust particles dancing on sunbeams, our homes start to look a little tired. The energy of our home can feel stagnant as well.
Our grocery list starts to grow in leaps and bounds as we start adding cleaning products. There will be the window cleaners, floor cleaners, bathroom cleaners, oven cleaners, bleach for the mildew in the grout, fragrant dryer sheets to make the bedding smell as good as the outdoors, on and on and on......
It soon becomes a toxic soup of cleaning chemicals, each one with a fresh scent and the promise of a shiny germ free home. We breathe in deeply of those clean smells as we finish our cleaning projects. Our floors wiped down with the handy spray and mop systems with the disposable sheets. Hmmmm kinda makes you wonder if all the fresh scent is worth it!
Have you spring cleaned your crystal collection yet? Not Aunt Mary’s wine goblets, I am referring to your crystals or stones.
I love crystals in all forms geodes, clusters, wands, tumbled and raw and I have them sprinkled throughout my house. Well, truth be told they are strategically placed not only for the benefit of the energy but so my husband won’t become aware as to the number of crystals I own!
It is during my spring cleaning that I gather up all my crystals and give them a good cleanse and recharge. Crystals that are used in healing sessions are constantly being cleared, however spring is a good reminder to cleanse crystals that are used infrequently or that are stored away.
To cleanse and clear the energies from crystals I do the following:
Do you like to spring clean?
I remember seeking out a specific mop at my local big box store. The sales associate inquired what is was for, and when I explained it was for my spring ritual of washing walls she replied, “Why don't you paint over the dirt?”
I was amused, because for me, heralding in the spring includes the ritual of washing my walls. My daughter likes to point out that I might be a dinosaur in my thinking, but I notice she’s started to spring clean herself - including wall washing.
To me, painting over dirty walls does not make sense. The walls might look fresh, but sometimes those dirt stains start to show through the paint. They aren't really gone - they are just covered up.
I enjoy the satisfaction of a fresh, dust free environment. I sleep better, feel more energized and feel happier. I love walking into my freshly spring cleaned home - the “energy” or the “vibe” feels different.
