RESET TECHNIQUES
Resetting the parasympathetic nervous system is vital to help recover from the flood of stress hormones that overtax our body systems and keep us overstimulated.
During a fight or flight stress response blood is diverted to our extremities so we can move quickly but that means less blood flow to our brain and the ability to clearly process our thoughts so we forget the ability of choice. In order to make concise, clear decisions one must have a calm and centered mind and body. The RESET techniques wake up your energy systems and have them engaged in a cohesive way to expel any extra energy and unprocessed emotions. |
REST TECHNIQUES
In order for the body to rest and repair it depends upon feeling safe enough to do so. This requires engaging in new habits and responses which calm the nervous system and bringing new neurological pathways into the brain.
Fight or flight response to stress impacts our breathing. Over time we find ourselves having the habit of shallow breathing leaving us to feel tired and sluggish. We can also find ourselves getting easily startled. The REST techniques demonstrate how activating safety within your nervous system can be accomplished by holding certain areas on the head. |
